Overlook Chapel Wedding | Victoria and Cory
Victoria and Cory were married at the Overlook Chapel in the YMCA of the Rockies, here in Estes Park, overlooking Rocky Mountain National Park.
The Overlook Chapel in the YMCA of the Rockies is aptly named. It overlooks Rocky Mountain National Park from a vantage point that is like no other. The Continental Divide is the backdrop for this amazing venue and you can see for many, many miles from up there.
Victoria and Cory are some of the most kind, thoughtful, and fun people we’ve had the pleasure of working with. Not only did we get to work with them at their wedding, we’ve also known them as friends since we moved to Estes Park. It’s always an honor to capture a friend’s wedding and we all had a fantastic day. They were engaged up in Rocky Mountain National Park while ice climbing. He led the pitch, (meaning he climbed and put the rope up) then he belayed her up to where he was. As she got to the ledge, he was on one knee with a ring. Good work, Cory! Kari and I have had the pleasure of hanging out with Victoria and Cory quite a lot, and we’re super glad to have them in our lives. Solid, caring people just make life better.
Most of the morning and some of the afternoon of this beautiful wedding were spent in the Mountainside Lodge getting ready. It’s a wonderful, 4500 square foot, log cabin style lodge built in the 1920’s that has kept its rustic charm. Inside, there are plenty of rooms for people to hang out and get ready, and a wonderful deck on the second floor. More after the pictures…
