Portraits are my favorite type of image to create. That being said, I love weddings mostly because you get to shoot a lot of them, and to me, portraits tell the story of the soul. My mind thinks in pictures, and when I am able to capture someone who has a lot to say with their eyes, it is forever burned in my memory. The portrait of the afghan girl shot by Steve McCurry for National Geographic was one of the first times I can remember being “taken” with an image. It is incredibly haunting, but it is just a portrait. Google it and see what I mean. Portraits are important to me. They speak a truth about where that person was at that time in their life. Hopefully you can see something in these shots that moves you. Enjoy.

All of these people mean something to me. When you create a portrait of someone it kind of becomes part of you. You look at it, study it, edit it, change it this way and back again, and finally you call it finished. But the story of the person in the portrait is never finished. I’ve only captured a small, short part of their life. If your portrait is here, thanks. I have found you inspirational in some way. If you would like your portrait to be here, please let me know. There are a lot of people out there that I’d love to shoot, and I’m always up for anything photographic!
Thanks again for stopping by, Cheers!
